So…I went to this sexual harassment seminar today. It was sort of fun though. The case studies kept me awake. Here’s one for you to ponder:
------
Fred is a graduate student in Chemistry. Dr. Rita Sullivan is his faculty advisor. Fred goes to see Dr. Sullivan and asks her for a job recommendation. Dr. Sullivan asks Fred to sit down next to her on the couch located in her office. Dr. Sullivan sits uncomfortably close to Fred and tells him that personal relationships can go a long way to getting the best jobs. Dr. Sullivan mentions that she would love to write Fred a recommendation but would need to get to know him better. She suggests dinner at her home on Saturday night; just the two of them.
She says, “We can sit on my porch overlooking the ICW and have a few drinks. If it’s a clear night and the stars are out, it is so easy to relax.”
By getting to know him better, Dr. Sullivan tells Fred it would make writing the letter easier. Fred’s not so sure that this would be a good idea because he gets a ‘weird’ feeling about the suggestion. Fred declines.
As Fred leaves her office, Dr. Sullivan says to him – “That’s too bad. You’re so bright. But I can’t write a recommendation letter for someone I don’t really know.”
----
First off, this seems more like a fantasy rather than something to be worried about. I mean…depending on the professor obviously, but shit Fred, get with the program damnit! I love ‘uncomfortably close’ and personally, I am more relaxed when the stars are out, especially after a few drinks.
Thoughts?

2 Unique Gasps:
Thoughts? Yes, I have a lot of them but feel that they are way too inappropriate for a public forum like this. I can already hear the 'eew, eew. eews) :)
It's business time!
